My Latest Obsession
I made these flowers on the weekend. Of course you can't just make one. We have had the family debate over what type of flower they are. I say they come from my imagination so they can turn out however they want. David even went out to count petals in the garden. Apparently they are not day lilies. Too many petals!!!!!!!!!!

The Valedictory Wrap - a teenage sons worst nightmare
I haven't listed anything new in the shop for weeks because I have been busy working on what has become known in our household as "the Valedictory Wrap". My oldest son finishes Year 12 next week and one of the events is the valedictory dinner. I decided to make myself a wrap to wear over basic black. Sounds normal to me....but completely disturbing to a 17 year old boy. Why can't you wear a normal dress like other mothers?????
When I produced a black vintage slip I bought off etsy and started sewing on lace and sequins it was almost more than he could bear. You're not wearing that to valedictory are you? What could I say? but yes. This all comes from the boy who wore a white pinstripe suit and white shoes to his formal. Is he really qualified to pass judgement on my fashion choices?
These photos show the first stage of the wrap. Still more work to do.

My First Market
My husband finally managed to convince me to take the plunge and go to our first market and I have to say once again he was right. We had a great day. Met lots of other people who love felting and going to markets. After several small disagreements about set up and where to put everything we eventually came to terms with the fact that we had completely different visions of what the shop should look like and as usual I got my way. And I have to admit that sometimes he was right (not that I admitted that to him).
The markets were at a beautiful historic house in Ipswich. Our shop was in the garden near a beautiful old Jacaranda tree. They are at their best at this time of the year.
David is now planning where we will go for our next market. Hopefully the lights on the trailer will be working by then. I want a van with PixielouFelt painted on the side in green and purple. May have to work on that.
Does anyone have any suggestions for getting husbands to clean out garages? Let me know if you do cause I want a studio ( not a loungeroom).
