Best Friends Forever With or Without the Tattoo

When you're 50 you can drink alcohol and eat chocolate biscuits before breakfast. The three of us have been friends since Year 9 in high school. We were all each others bridesmaids and even when we haven't seen each other for awhile it's like we just talked yesterday.

We had a weekend away in the city after 37 years as friends and the talk of the weekend was that we should get matching tattoos (our husbands spent their time suggesting what would be appropriate). We may be wild enough to break the alcohol and chocolate biscuits rule but the tattoo was a little beyond us in the end.

In the end we all got a matching overlapping hearts pandora bead........I think we will still be happy to look at that when we are 70......not so sure about looking at a tattoo in 20 years.

Survived The Floods

Things have finally started to settle down now after the January flood. We moved out because we knew our house had 70 cm of water through in 1974. Luckily we moved unnecessarily.

We came home thinking we would find a muddy mess but thankfully the water stopped about 3 metres away from the house. If you kept walking across that 3 metres you would step off into 9 metres of water. For as far as we could see it was water. The first photo shows the bottom of the driveway. It came up another 9 metres from there.

Still trying to find things that got packed so quickly, moved and then moved again. We certainly were some of the lucky ones.

Look What I've Got!!!!!!!

I finally got the van I have been waiting for. I know a lot of people (even people in my own family) think vans are daggy but I love mine. It's not a serious van but it's perfect for me. Fits everything for the markets. It had it's first workout last Saturday at the Rockton markets. I have put a photo of the gorgeous old house, the van (and me) and the stall.

The market was great and I got invited to take part in a fashion parade for local designers........I won't be modelling! My clothes on a runway. A bit exciting for me. Will let you know how it goes.

Colour, Colour, Colour

Warwick is a country town about one and half hours from where I live. There is a new shop that has just opened called Spiritual Awareness. I met Chris, the owner, at a market we went to in December last year.

She asked if I could make some things for the shop when she got it up and running. We delivered some felted soaps and silk scarves on Saturday morning. As a lover of colour I just had to share the photo of everything together.

What a difference a photo makes!

A friend has three beautiful daughters and they offered to do a photo shoot with some of the vests I have made. They took them out to a farm with lots of interesting backdrops. Rosie took the photos (she is only 16 years old) and Emily and Amy did the modelling.

I think you will agree that they did a fabulous job. I didn't even recognise some of the vests they looked so amazing.

My Latest Obsession

I made these flowers on the weekend. Of course you can't just make one. We have had the family debate over what type of flower they are. I say they come from my imagination so they can turn out however they want. David even went out to count petals in the garden. Apparently they are not day lilies. Too many petals!!!!!!!!!!

The Finished Wrap ( at least I think it's finished!)

Finally finished the Valedictory Wrap. I will post a photo of me wearing it to the dinner on Thursday. Maybe even lucky enough to get a photo with my son who loves the wrap so much!!! Also finished embellishing the vintage slip last night. He is completely creeped out. That's what you have children for......isn't it?
